A: Not sure about batteries, mine was 100% manual cleaning.. Hope this helps

**Q: what is this? mineral Spirits, Turpentine, or what ?**
A: It’s thinner. You can clean your brushes and tools with it and thin out your paint. Works great and conditions the bristles.
