The OXO Good Grips Stainless Steel Salad Spinner gives you a quick, easy way to wash and dry lettuce, herbs or fruit with a premium design that looks great on the table and holds up to daily use. Featuring the same one-handed pump and signature quick-touch brake as our best-selling Salad Spinner, this version includes a stainless steel bowl that doubles as an elegant serving dish. To use, simply rinse your lettuce, herbs or fruit in the basket, then drop the basket into place inside the stainless steel bowl. Press the soft, non-slip pump to spin greens or fruit quickly with minimal effort. The wide non-slip base keeps the bowl steady on your countertop while you spin, and the patented built-in brake button stops the basket instantly when you're ready to unload. The spinner basket doubles as a colander, so you can rinse produce right in the basket before spinning. The stainless steel bowl is designed to transition seamlessly from prep to serving—perfect for salads, fruit or snacks. With no cords, no plugs and no hassle, it’s a fast, frustration-free way to prep and serve meals. When you're finished, the transparent lid locks flush with the pump for compact, stackable storage. Why? Because it is the plastic top that cracks first on all three larger versions: the large all plastic, large glass and large steel bowl .So get the large size all plastic as it is 1/2 to 1/3 the price of the metal or glass version. If you make salad daily all versions will likely fail in three years or so, so you may as well get the least expensive. And you cannot replace the top of the metal or glass with the top from a plastic one. They are the exact same capacity but the tops are not interchangable. Nor can you buy the top alone from oxo! **Q: I broke my older version plastic outer bowl. Does the old lid and basket fit into the stainless model also?** A: I've bought this twice. I keep melting the lid by accident. This first one fit the second one. I would guess they are the same. **Q: Can the stainless steel bowl part go in the dishwasher on the bottom rack?** A: I had this spinner for almost 2 years, frequent use, my son and I loved it, and I always washed it by hand. Then this week I put it in the dishwasher on the top rack, with the metal bowl on the bottom rack. Next day my son spun lettuce in it, and it broke! There was a plastic pin in the spinner mechanism that either came unglued or broke away. It no longer spun again. Coincidence? I can't say. Now I'm debating whether to go with another of the this same brand/style or try another brand altogether. If I bought another of the same brand I could use the old bowl and drainer with it when needed. Can still use them by themselves as a non-spinner. Thinking... thinking... trying to decide. **Q: stainless steel spinner unit is too tall for our fridge ... what do YOU do, if also so ... ?** A: I do not store items in this container. If you must make sure your fridge shelf can handle the height by adjusting. You can also make sure black spinner push bar is locked in down position. If all fails buy a new fridge. ## Frequently Bought Together - OXO Good Grips Stainless Steel Salad Spinner, 6.34 Qt. - OXO Good Grips Stainless Steel 5 qt./ 4.7 L Colander - Cuisinart Mesh Strainers, 3 Count (Pack of 1) Set, CTG-00-3MS Silver --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/2009096-oxo-good-grips-stainless-steel-salad-spinner-vegetable-washer-6](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/2009096-oxo-good-grips-stainless-steel-salad-spinner-vegetable-washer-6) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-12*
