A: I don't think people are getting ceramic tiles.  The cost of this game is pretty consistent anywhere you look.  The double set is two single sets so you get a bit of a break.

**Q: is this enough for about 8 players?**
A: Yes, with 288 tiles (in Double Bananagrams) the instructions state you can have up to 16 players—definitely would work for 8. Very fun game!

A: I believe you may be looking for the Bananagrams Party Edition.  The tiles are black and they do have special tiles.
