We took out our trailer / canopy during a very rainy weekend (it literally rained from Thursday - Sunday while we were camping), and we used these plates to hold down the canopy instead of digging stakes - and it sure worked. We used two sets of 4 - so there were two weights on each leg of our canopy. I really loved that we didn't have strings coming off of our canopy (the way we would with stakes) - you don't need to be tripping over ropes when you're crossing the campsite at night to use the restroom! These are simple and not too heavy, and they hold up in the wind. I would recommend these to anyone.
