Turns out that he's just come down with strep throat and is not feeling well at all- this instantly put a smile on his face as soon as he saw it, and it's running perfectly on the tracks of his kidkraft train table! This is the first he's been out of bed all day, and though I know he won't play long today, I can see that this little engine is going to become a favorite. Thank you Brio for a great product, and to the seller for quick shipping and great service! Also bought the little magnetic bell, and I couldn't ask for a better surprise! My son loves this train! Just a heads up though, you will go through so many batteries if you leave it on! My kid plays with it all day and we’ll go through a new battery every other day at least. Other than that, it’s super cute and well made and my two year old loves it.

Updated: The screw for the battery is in the smoke stack on top. NOT in the bottom where most batteries are. This says battery operated, but I was unable to change the battery. The battery is wired into the engine.
