We used it for a 30 gallon. **Q: im looking at the medium or large how big is the hose?** A: I have the large size. It works well for a 55 gallon tank. The suction tube is 24" long, the hose is 6' long and it has a 1/2" diameter. It fills a 5 gallon bucket pretty quick. I wouldn't get a medium size for a 55 gallon tank, the suction tube would be too short. I had this product for a while and I am happy with it. **Q: what is the ID & OD of the 6-foot tube?** A: The ID is 7/16", OD 9/16". Be advised that the end of the tubing is soft and doesn't hold a perfectly round shape. I measured it a few times and came up with the same results though. If you are trying to fit the inside of the tube over a 1/2" OD coupling, it may work with some lubrication and perhaps heating it first in hot water. **Q: Is the Medium big enough to clean a 55 Gal?** A: yes. I have a 45 gallon and, in my opinion, a medium cleans it efficiently and well. ## Frequently Bought Together - Fluval Easy Vac Gravel Cleaner, Mini - API FRESHWATER MASTER TEST KIT 800-Test Freshwater Aquarium Water Master Test Kit, White, Single, Multi-colored - Fluval M 50-Watt Submersible Heater --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/19456270-fluval-easyvac-compact-aquarium-gravel-cleaner-for-small-and-nano](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/19456270-fluval-easyvac-compact-aquarium-gravel-cleaner-for-small-and-nano) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-19*
