Lightweight, odorless, and water-resistant, it ensures your cat stays comfortable and protected without greasy residues or frequent reapplications. ## Description Give your cat long-lasting protection against fleas and ticks with a Seresto Cat flea and tick collar. Unlike other flea and tick protection, Seresto Cat flea and tick collars kill and repel fleas for eight continuous months. Seresto Cat flea and tick collars are recommended by veterinarians, stocked by 8,000 vet clinics* and trusted by pet owners for nearly a decade. Seresto Cat gets right to work killing existing fleas on cats within 24 hours. Reinfesting fleas are killed within two hours – before they lay eggs – delivering protection against further flea infestation for eight months. Seresto Cat collars make your cat’s comfort a priority by killing on contact, so pests don’t have to bite your cat to die. Seresto Cat collars also kill re-infesting ticks in as quickly as six hours, and they prevent tick infestations within 48 hours of the initial application. Fleas and ticks not only cause discomfort; they can also pose other risks. Consistent use of a Seresto Cat flea and tick prevention collar is important to protect your cat against fleas and ticks that may cause bartonellosis, transmission of tapeworms in cats or Lyme disease. This formula also kills fleas which may cause Flea Allergy Dermatitis and feline infectious anemia. Seresto Cat flea protection collars are effective and lightweight for both indoor and outdoor cats and kittens at least 10 weeks old, and there’s no prescription needed. They’re odorless, non-greasy and water resistant to shampoo treatment, bathing,** swimming or exposure to rain or sunlight. Seresto Cat is a trademark of Elanco or its affiliates. *Elanco Animal Health, data on file **Seresto Cat is water resistant and remains effective following a shampoo treatment, swimming or after exposure to rain or sunlight. Under normal conditions, effectiveness lasts for 8 months. In order to maintain an eight-month duration, cats must not be bathed more than once per month. ## Features - Vet-recommended, premium flea & tick protection for cats & kittens without the price tag - Long-lasting flea and tick collar kills & repels fleas for 8 continuous months - Seresto is the #1 veterinarian recommended flea & tick collar* - Starts working within 24 hours to kill & repel fleas and ticks by contact so pests don’t have to bite your cat to die - Hassle-free, non-greasy, easy-to-use flea & tick protection ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00B8CG5NK | | ASIN | B00B8CG5NK | | Active Ingredients | Imidacloprid, Flumethrin | | Age Range Description | 10 weeks and older | | Allergen Information | Allergen-Free | | Best Sellers Rank | #330 in Pet Supplies ( See Top 100 in Pet Supplies ) #1 in Cat Flea Collars | | Brand Name | Seresto | | Customer Reviews | 4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars (47,273) | | Date First Available | January 28, 2013 | | Department | Insect Control | | Included Components | 1 pk | | Item Form | Collar | | Item Type Name | Collar | | Item Weight | 5.6 ounces | | Item model number | CA8524001AM | | Manufacturer | Elanco US Inc | | Manufacturer | Elanco US Inc | | Manufacturer Part Number | CA8524001AM | | Manufacturer recommended age | 1 month and up | | Model Number | CA8524001AM | | Product Dimensions | 1.56 x 4.5 x 4.5 inches; 5.6 ounces | | Scent Name | Unscented | | Target Species | Cat | | UPC | 724089579522 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Warranty Description | No_warranty | ## Product Details - **Active Ingredients:** Imidacloprid, Flumethrin - **Age Range (Description):** 10 weeks and older - **Allergen Information:** Allergen-Free - **Brand:** Seresto - **Color:** Gray - **Item Form:** Collar - **Item Weight:** 5.6 ounces - **Scent:** Unscented - **UPC:** 724089579522 - **Unit Count:** 1 Count ## Images ![Seresto Cat Vet-Recommended Flea & Tick Treatment & Prevention Collar for Cats | 8 Months Protection - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/712HAwWQDoL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Total Product Quantity** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: Does this collar also help to repel mosquitoes?** A: I don't know if it repels mosquitos, it does a very good job on fleas and ticks, however I saw a news article on the Soresto collar and how it had killed some young cats. My cat had used this product for about three years, I switched to the Hartz collar but if the fleas get very bad I may go back to Soresto, only because he was OK with it before. The Hartz seems to be working now, I comb my Cat daily, and I have found one young tick so far. They ALL say not to use their collar on young cats. I have never seen a cat with mosquitos, I have had cats since 1960. **Q: Isn’t this the collar that’s killed around 1,700 pets in the last few years?** A: Out of over 25 million callars sold? Isn't that something like 0.007%? Flea and tick infestations also kill pets. I tried several other methods before buying Seresto again (I had used them in other pets but money was tight). None of them worked very well at all. Diatomaceous earth does a good job of destroying fleas and eggs in carpets and furniture but it is too irritating to put it directly on an animal's fur and skin. I gave up on eating out for a month and bought a Soresto collar and I was able to put the flea combs away for good. **Q: What country was this collar made in?** A: Germany. Beware of cheaper ones made in China. **Q: Does it fit any size cat?** A: Wouldn't recommend it for a tiger, but I believe it will fit almost any cat.. It fit my 4 month old kitten . He is now a 13 pound tomcat and is still wearing it. It is adjustable. Also easy to adjust. ## Frequently Bought Together - Seresto Flea Tick Collar for Cats - Seresto Large Dog Vet-Recommended Flea & Tick Treatment & Prevention Collar for Dogs Over 18 lbs. | 8 Months Protection - Seresto Cat Vet-Recommended Flea & Tick Treatment & Prevention Collar for Cats, 8 Months Protection | (Pack of 2) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/190289647-seresto-cat-vet-recommended-flea-and-tick-treatment-and-prevention](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/190289647-seresto-cat-vet-recommended-flea-and-tick-treatment-and-prevention) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-16*
