I used it for the under hood to save the new paint job. It does a great job keeping the hood cool. As for noise, I only noticed a little reduction in decibels. Good luck. **Q: I have a JL 10w6 facing the lift gate of my Tahoe behind the 3rd row. Will this help with vehicle rattle and license plate rattle if I cover the door?** A: This product is to be used on top of the Dynamat so if you just use dynaliner. I don't think it will work as well. **Q: What color is this? Silver or black?** A: Mine was black **Q: what is the temperature rating on this? Want to put in the engine room of my boat to deaden engine noise at the helm** A: Dynaliner is for the inside cabin for under the carpet, behind the door panels, and behind the headliner. It's intention is more of a temperature isolation barrier and some higher frequencies deadening. You would have great results using the Dynamat pressed into the interior body of the engine compartment.
