Review: Amazing Kayak - I can not say enough good things about this Kayak. It is so easy to blow up and I found it to be very steady on the water. The material is super durable and the back seat really does provide support for your back. I am 5'3 and found it to be the perfect size for me. I think it would be good for anyone under 6 ft. I am also on the heavier side over 200lbs and the boat completely did not sink at all with me on it. I think for the cost of this kayak you can not go wrong. It really does pack up nicely and you can carry it like a backpack just like the picture shows.
Review: Love these Kayaks! - Bought 2 of these after doing some research and not being able to purchase hard shell kayaks locally or within a reasonable delivery date and delivery price (due to COVID-19, ALL the hard shell kayaks at ALL the local stores were sold out, and ALL the entry level kayaks (<$500) were on back order plus there was a huge delivery fee for online purchase). These were delivered within 3 days with free delivery. Honestly, we were skeptical about purchasing inflatable kayaks, but these have more than meet our needs! My daughter (15yo) and myself (56 yo) wanted kayaks for our COVID-19 Social Distancing Summer activity (and we were really missing our normal pool time). These are EXTREMELY easy to inflate (pump included is easy to use). We leave them partial inflated (mostly inflate, we deflate the chair back and the footbed, but leave the two main compartments inflated) and we are able to transport them in the back of our mini van with the seats down; so no need for a roof rack and the two of us are able to get them loaded and carried down to the water by ourselves. We have taken them out a total of 9 times on a nearby county park 300+ acre lake... and have no real complaints! The only con, you will NOT win a race with these kayaks - ha! Because they are full of air and you're sitting on top of the water (instead of down in the water like you would be in a hard shell kayak), you just aren't able to slice through the water at any great speed. As others have mentioned, the paddles are marginal at best... but we have had no problems with them. My husband gave them a real work out and they did come apart of him (he torched too much trying to paddle hard), but the paddles did NOT break, they just twisted apart. My daughter and I just really float around and are in no hurry to explore the lake. We were able to purchase these @ $150 each (I'm sure the price was inflated due to COVID-19, I think they were in the $120 price range this time last year), but that has been a good price point for us. The lake were we go rents kayaks @$13 hour or $25 two hours , so they have paid for themselves (plus no waiting in line or no worries then the rental shack is closed for the day). We have been stopped and asked about the kayaks every time we use them... I'm pretty sure we will be able to resell them at a decent price if we decide to purchase hard shell kayaks. They are easy to get on and off of at the water's edge, and we have not had any problems with them taking on water (and I am not a small person). Plus we have not had an damage to them during our use (we put in a concrete boat ramp or at a rock beach area).

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Would i be able to put my dog on it? Or will it pop**
A: The material is durable and the max weight is over 400lbs, so I'd trust having a dog on it.

**Q: Will it be good for a non-agile senior citizen? Ease of getting in and out, sense of stability?**
A: As long as they can swim! Assume this one (and any other small kayak!) will flip over. If they are fine with that, then you're good. Small inflatable kayaks (especially ones where the seat is up high like this) flip over sometimes when used by somebody who is not agile (not great at balancing it).

**Q: How do I know if I have inflated kayak to the proper amount?**
A: Adjust for temperature change!! Follow the chamber order but if the air temp is 85 degrees F. and the water is 50 degrees it's best to let the kayak sit in the water for at least 15 minutes then check chambers again. Cold temps will reduce pressure and you could end up with a sagging kayak mid stream.

**Q: How does the carry backpack turn into the seat?**
A: The back of the backpack unfolds to create the seat and backrest. The bungee portion of the backpack secures a spot on the front of the kayak for shoes, a small cooler, etc.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sevylor K1 great for light paddlingl/hiking/backpacking
*by C***S on July 24, 2017*

I have been through various stages as a kayaker, though exclusively in the sit-on-top arena. We still have a (non-inflatable) Ocean Kayak ("Frenzy") that we like very much. While I like this Sevylor K1 very much, too, it is primarily for one specific reason: portability. If you want a solid/heavier sit-on-top that tracks well on the water...THIS IS NOT THE KAYAK FOR YOU. The K1 tracks quite poorly, to be honest. However, I had been looking for a traveling (by car) solution that wouldn't require us driving all over the country with full-sized, hard-body kayaks on the roof (lot of physical requirements, not to mention changing center of gravity on the car, cutting down on gas mileage, etc.). Additionally, we wanted a kayak so portable that you could hike with it, to find remote lakes that you can't get to by car. For THAT purpose...the K1 is perfect, and it does exactly what it advertises: it inflates quickly ("5 minutes" is probably a bit optimistic...but - I haven't gotten the full hang of it yet), and (perhaps more importantly) deflates and folds up into its own backpack. Even fully deflated, folded, and with both the paddle and the pump strapped to the pack, the whole thing weighs just under 17 lbs. I would not venture too far out into a big lake, or take it out in heavy wind/chop - but for calm lakes, or "lazy rivers" - this is perfect. One hint on deflating/folding/packing: use the "deflate" connection on the pump to suck ALL the air out of ALL the chambers (even the mouth-inflated sections have an adapter that will fit) so that it will fold as flat and compact as possible. The pump is great, BTW, because it will move air with both the up-stroke and the down-stroke - basically you'll fill the kayak twice as fast compared to a traditional "one-way" pump.
