(I dislike licorice). Thanks** A: Not licorice so much, but it is a strongly scented oil. If you are using ylang-ylang for its properties, you can't really worry about the scent. It works well with pulling debris from the pores. I combine it with clary sage in cold process soap for a good complexion bar. I find Ylang Ylang to be almost floral neutral, you don't actually think "flower" when you smell it, but its definitely closer to a flower than grass. It's actually somewhat cologne-like, easy to use in formulas designed for men, and is considered gender neutral, unlike Jasmine, which is strongly feminine. No one can really explain a fragrance, you have to experience it for yourself.
