Insides are made of old stylus from Note 8 tablet, interestingly, although I cannot pull it out and at least use that part with my old tablet. Adaptor works fine and is a tight fit. Have not tried replacement heads. Found genuine Samsung stylus' on ebay for $7 each if I bought two, and have been using one of my two for past 5 - 6 weeks with no problem. Don't waste your money on this. Construction too shoddy.
