Im worried that the wheel wells are too far away for the straps to reach...** A: It won't work for that van - not because of the wheel wells (you could always attach extra cord to extend it) but because it has to have a hatch door to keep the awning up. If your van has the two doors in back which open horizontally this item will not work. **Q: would the awning work on a Casita trailer** A: I am not familiar with your trailer, I use mine on the back of my Pinecone pod trailer and it works great. There is plenty of covered space behind the trailer. I use bungee cords to attach to each side of the trailer. **Q: Would this work with a full sized van with barn doors in back?** A: ABSOLUTELY - this was the best buy I made for our trip. it comes with ropes (para-cord) + suction cups to secure it, the ropes have little plastic hooks that allow you to 'secure' it to something like under side of vehicle, roof rack, mirrors - something on your vehicle without damage. You should however invest in weight bags (that you fill with rocks, water or sand/dirt) to hold/tie-down to the front legs so the wind doesn't grab it & blow it away. I am delighted with it - well worth the money for a huge portable awning. we easily shaded our whole picnic table with all 6 of us under it and immediately around it. You may need two people to open/close the doors (someone to lift it up to allow door to FULLY open/close) but you could find a higher point to secure that would allow it without 2 people. I rarely use the poles and just have the other end staked in the ground - creates privacy this way and since I’m only 5’1” it works perfectly for me set up this way. I’ve been in rain storms and had my electric bike completely sheltered by this awesome product. Use it every time now and it’s simple and quick to set up. Plenty of clearance for my truck topper hatch and looks to have plenty of clearance for van and suv hatches. Yields a good amount of room. I can probably cut that in half next time.The only flaw was a broken clip. It didn't seem to affect the performance of the awning, but I didn't want to take any chances so I sent support an email. They returned my email in a timely manner (less than 2 days) and authorized repair parts to be sent.
