## Description

Review: How hard are they? Here is my take... - Awesome build quality. They feel really nice in your hand. The perfect gripper for those who do not want to get blisters and callouses all over their hands. If you're into the heavier grippers, you will find the #1 and the #2 are great for warm-up sets. How difficult are they vs regular COC grippers? Its hard to compare them because what really makes these grippers a challenge is the fact that their silky-smooth surface and wider starting position kind of force you into taking the no-set close approach. Here is my take: -The trainer is very easy and could be closed by most people who have never used grippers. -The 1 is somewhere between the sport and the trainer -still very easy (If you have never used grippers buy this one first) -If you can close the Zenith 2 you would be able to close the COC #1-#1.5 Now it gets much harder... -I'm able to do ~4reps with the coc #2 and Gillingham #5 and am about 2-3mm away from closing the COC 2.5 and the Gillingham #6, yet can barely just touch the handles on the Zenith #3 for one rep! This is where you notice how much the smooth surface of the Zenith adds to the challenge in a huge way. -The Zenith #4 is a massive step up from the Zenith #3. It feels impossible to me. Don't even bother buying this one unless you can close the 3 or 3.5 (my best guess) ...or in the event that you just want a really cool looking paper weight for your desk
Review: A great, no-nonsense grip trainer. - The Zenith #1 is a very business-like, professional-grade piece of exercise equipment, and a pretty stiff step upward from the typical sporting goods hand grippers. I was getting 40-50 reps with an Altus GoGrip on the hardest of its three settings, and I'm getting 12-20 reps out of these. With regard to the smooth handles, that's great for the finger side, which needs to slip as you squeeze, but a little too slippery against the palm if your hands are dry. A little knurling wouldn't hurt on one handle. The Zenith Trainer might be a good starting point for most beginners, and is only slightly harder than the Altus GoGrip.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: When should I move from a Z2 to a Z3? i can do 2 x 10 of the Z2 (use some eggs and the Z1 for warmups)**
A: Most experienced grip trainers will tell you that it takes about 25 reps to move up a whole number, since there are no half sizes in zeniths you could wait until then or just get a three, "force close" it with both hands and hold it for as long as you can for negatives. Also please get yourself some strong rubber bands and a wrist roller for extensor training I trained to imbalanced and tore my tendon now I am dealing with tennis elbow which has set me back a bit.

**Q: Zenith 1 is comparable to which gripper level of COC reststance?**
A: Ultrared: Thank you for your inquiry. We do not rate Zenith grippers in direct comparison to CoC grippers because the two grippers, while designed to work perfectly together, feel very different. You use Zenith to maintain strong and healthy hands, doing moderate to high reps to for strength and endurance. Captains of Crush grippers are designed to build maximum strength using low reps and 1RM workouts. What we can say is that a Zenith 1 is easier than a CoC No. 1, and so on up the line – so a Zenith 1 is closer to a CoC Trainer. Please let us know if you have any further questions. Thank you.

**Q: I have all the coc series including imtug, what is the the difference between the coc regular grippers and zenith? should one have both of the series?**
A: Besides coc having knurled handles versus zenith smooth, the coc grippers are rated differently, examples being, coc number 1 is equivalent to zenith number 2. One series is fine, however, zenith's grippers have a limit as far as grip strength is concerned. Products are great. They all work!

**Q: How many reps are the Zenith designed for without breaking the spring?**
A: Thank you for asking, and although we’ve never taken one to failure, Zenith is designed for a longer life than a conventional gripper. That being said, all springs will break at some point, so doing excessively high reps on a gripper will prematurely shorten its life . . . for an essentially infinite number of reps, the IronMind EGG is a perfect choice.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A great, no-nonsense grip trainer.
*by B***K on December 8, 2013*

The Zenith #1 is a very business-like, professional-grade piece of exercise equipment, and a pretty stiff step upward from the typical sporting goods hand grippers. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Power to the hands
*by W***R on June 21, 2014*

First quality gripper I've bought. I was dissuaded from CoC simply because I didn't want to maul my hands in the process of growing stronger. I mean blisters are great and all, but shredding your palms? No thank you! The action on this gripper is smooth, and a little WD-40 resolved any squeaky issues. The grip is a little slippery at first, comparable to a wood gripper, but the poundage is definitely worth it. If you've been using other generic grippers in the past and have been lifting weights, I say starting at #1 is a good place. The trainer will be too easy of a hurdle to clear.
