The clamps were bent on almost all of the jars, so the lids didn't open and close smoothly, and they definitely didn't seal airtight. They were packaged well, so I don't think that was the cause of the problem. I loved the look of these jars, but that's all...they aren't functional! Even though they are air tight, I use them for things like toothpicks and vitamin pills. They are so attractive, and I set them out on my kitchen table. The toothpicks don't turn over and spill everywhere, and I don't forget to take vitamins since the jars are pretty enough to keep out.
