I apply a deet or picaridin spray on my feet, and a Lemon Eucalyptus repellent on my face, ears, and neck, and spray my long sleeve UPF jacket and long pants with a picaridin spray for clothes. I also wear gloves when working. I chose three different brands based on reviews by Consumer Reports and Consumer Lab.
