## Description

KMFDM have been blending and bending musical genres in the underground scene for more than 21 years. While Sascha K. claims (tongue firmly in cheek) to be ''the Father of Industrial Rock'', KMFDM have in truth crossed over to rock, metal and dance fans alike. They have returned to Metropolis Records to release their newest album ''HauRuck''. As for the singing on this album, Lucia unleases a spectrum of vocal styles and Sascha K spews his own trademark, ''bad-ass'' attitude. Lyrically thought provoking, yet humorously ironic, KMFDM skewer the world and themselves with each stab. Throwing out all misconceptions of the band and the genres they are associated with, this is the most powerful and innovative album that KMFDM has ever created. KMFDM produced and mixed the album themselves and were even involved in the mastering process guaranteeing a sonic redefining of their signature sound. From the spoken introduction of the album to the closing track, KMFDM show exactly what some hard work can accomplish. On Metropolis.

KMFDM, the Professional Killer Apps of the Industrial Metal World!!!!

*by S***K on June 4, 2016*

**Intro**KMFDM has put out a vast quantity of albums, this one was produced right after they all broke up in the early 2000s, produced MDFMK, and then regrouped again as KMFDM once again. The title "Hau Ruck" means "Heave Ho" in German. Lucia's lyrics are so smooth and confident in this album it is hard not to forget that she had only been with the band for a few albums by this point. There are definitely some really strong songs in this album, which is why I'm giving it 5 stars.**The Music**Here are the highlights:1. Free your hate - Music inciting rebellion and political demonstration, complete with excerpts from civil rights speeches. Includes the lyrics "stampede and break your chains," and a lot of other good one-liners.4. New American Century - Some of the most prominent lyrics of the album, there's a lot of energy and rebellion here. Marching music and civil rights movement speeches are sampled, which adds to the drama nicely. Protest against religion is also included.5. Real Thing - Ballad-like in some places, less hardcore than typical KMFDM music, calmer than usual Lucia vocals.7. Mini Mini Mini - Slow, lumbering, ultra heavy beat, with very heavy distorted vocals by Kaptain K, if you are into that sort of thing.8. Professional Killer - In my opinion, Lucia's most powerful, provocative, and seductive work ever. Just as dramatic as the song KMFDM did in the 90s with Nina Hagen called "Witness." You'll have to..."hold on to your seat"....if you buy and listen to this one. This song is unbelievable in that it has audio samples from the proceedings of a real electric chair execution in it. The first time I head it I was quite bowled over, not something to expect out of even heavy metal music. I'll let you decide whether it was in good taste for them to have done this. I'm content to regard it as artful expression, though certainly on the extreme side.10. Ready to Blow - Really nice team effort with the vocals between Lucia and Kaptain K. Call and response style, and together in a few places. The chorus is "Static in my head; Lines blur red; Got my mind made up; And my trigger finger ready to blow!" They are a married couple. Can you imagine making music like this with your wife? Living the dream, if you ask me?**Summary/Buying Advice**This is a pretty good album throughout, so if you are a dedicated KMFDM, you should definitely buy the whole album. If you are just interested in a song or two, Professional Killer and Ready to Blow are probably the best ones here, though the others are not throwaways.Just because this is a KMFDM album:KMFDM Sucks!!!
