The probe is 5.5 inches (14 cm) longer than regular styles, allowing it to measure the soil moisture at the bottom of larger and deeper flower pots. - Easy-to-Read Large Dial: The large dial is easy to read and includes three zones with ten scales, making it very straightforward to understand. - Immediate Moisture Reading: Insert the probe into the soil, and without waiting, the dial will immediately display the moisture level. You can then decide whether your plant needs watering based on the measurement. Do not leave this moisture meter in the soil for more than 5 minutes, as the metal tip will gradually corrode. - Less Damage: A single probe causes less damage to plant roots compared to double or multiple probes, and when you remove the probe after testing, it won't bring out much soil. - Usage Precautions: Do not use it to test very hard soil. Do not test water or other liquids. After testing, please wipe the probe clean. - IMPORTANT: MEDIA DENSITY & POROSITY This meter is designed for standard potting soil. If you are using loose or airy media (such as pure perlite, pumice, pine bark, or orchid mix), the probe may not make sufficient physical contact with the substrate. Symptom: The dial remains at "Dry" zone or shows inconsistent readings even if the media is damp. Solution: Firmly pack or compress the media around the probe to ensure the sensor is in direct contact with the moisture-holding particles. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B099R6BQHB | | Best Sellers Rank | #687 in Patio, Lawn & Garden ( See Top 100 in Patio, Lawn & Garden ) #2 in Soil Meters | | Brand | XLUX | | Brand Name | XLUX | | Color | Green | | Customer Reviews | 4.4 out of 5 stars 20,044 Reviews | | Item Weight | 0.13 kg | | Manufacturer | Fangtan | | Model | T9178 | | Mounting Type | Tabletop | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Part Number | T9178-001 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Upper Temperature Range | 50 °C | | Upper Temperature Rating | 50 °C | ## Product Details - **Brand:** XLUX - **Color:** Green - **Item Weight:** 0.13 kg - **Mounting Type:** Tabletop - **Upper Temperature Rating:** 50 °C ## Images ![Long Probe Deep Use Soil Moisture Meter, Water Monitor Indicator Sensor, Hygrometer for Outdoor Indoor Large Pot Plants, Flower, Gardening, Farming - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71WwgKakqAL.jpg) ![Long Probe Deep Use Soil Moisture Meter, Water Monitor Indicator Sensor, Hygrometer for Outdoor Indoor Large Pot Plants, Flower, Gardening, Farming - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81JfU6QxP3L.jpg) ![Long Probe Deep Use Soil Moisture Meter, Water Monitor Indicator Sensor, Hygrometer for Outdoor Indoor Large Pot Plants, Flower, Gardening, Farming - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81mATPeUhXL.jpg) ![Long Probe Deep Use Soil Moisture Meter, Water Monitor Indicator Sensor, Hygrometer for Outdoor Indoor Large Pot Plants, Flower, Gardening, Farming - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91G+71vhMKL.jpg) ![Long Probe Deep Use Soil Moisture Meter, Water Monitor Indicator Sensor, Hygrometer for Outdoor Indoor Large Pot Plants, Flower, Gardening, Farming - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91dNXIw7pvL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size, Item Package Quantity** options. ## Frequently Bought Together - XLUX Soil Moisture Sensor Meter Water Monitor, Hygrometer for Gardening, Farming,Plants, No Batteries Required, 2 Pack - XLUX Long Probe Deep Use Soil Moisture Meter, Water Monitor Indicator Sensor, Hygrometer for Outdoor Indoor Large Pot Plants, Flower, Gardening, Farming - XLUX Long Probe Deep Use Soil Moisture Meter Sensor, Water Monitor Indicator, Hygrometer for Outdoor Indoor Large Pot Plants, Flower, Gardening, Farming, 2 Pack --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/170778146-long-probe-deep-use-soil-moisture-meter-water-monitor-indicator](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/170778146-long-probe-deep-use-soil-moisture-meter-water-monitor-indicator) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-11-05*
