Review: Relatable and realistic - I actually read Gemma's books backwards- I got The Organised Time Technique from the library, enjoyed the concepts and her writing style and was intruiged about TOMM. As with most good things, the methodology is incredibly simple. Housework can be overwhelming. Trying to summon up the energy to deal with the chaos, having a binge cleaning day only for hard work to be obliterated by crazy toddler is all very disheartening. This method is realistic and helps stop the stressing and obsessing. Ideal for people who suffer from procrastination &/or perfectionism. My only critique is that doing dishes isn't included in the level 1 tasks but I'm trying to get better on doing them as and when. Right, off to do my 30 mins now! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great plan, but more than half an hour a day *by A***R on 28 May 2021* I like this book: it offers hope each time I try to keep up. But the tagline "transform your home in thirty minutes a day" should have an "extra" in there. Because the 30min doesn't include daily hoovering of the house, doing the dishes three times a day, a few minutes cleaning the bathroom each day, washing laundry, putting it on the line, taking it off the line, folding it and putting it away, and making beds, all of which the author claims can be done in 15mins! The not-counted daily tasks take me around one hour, maybe longer, and only if I go at it hell-for-leather. I live in a four bed, two story house and even the most superficial of hoovers takes twenty minutes. I also don't have a dishwasher, which perhaps most people do. All that said, if you can find the time and energy to squeeze another thirty minutes out of yourself after you've done the basics, then this book is exactly what you are looking for. The author is warm and likeable. The plan is practical and, time/energy allowing, do-able. I think if I was a stay at home mum I could really do this. Unfortunately as a full time worker with kids (and a husband from the dark ages) I struggle.
