With my Standard Poodle, they always do eventually.** A: I will be answering as if the question is worded "How long before the metal pins start to fall out" instead of the strangely worded question above. So... On to it. I bought one of these brushes in July 2017 and have used it in my opinion quit a lot or in other words extensively. I have used it to comb out or brush out knots in my Havanese and just general use of brushing. I have washed the brush several times, and not even one pin has come out. I even use a metal comb to get hair out of the brush side with the metal pins. Still no pin has come out or been lost. In my humble opinion, this is a sturdy, well built brush that can stand quite a lot of use. That is not to say it is indestructible and that perhaps at some point in the future it could possibly loos a pin. But as is, this one is going strong. I can recommend it. Read my review if you like. **Q: Would you recommend this brush for a golden doodle ?** A: I'm not sure about a golden doodle. I have 3 small dogs, each with different types of fur and they all like this brush, as do I. As another reviewer said, it might not stand up to a large thick furred dog. It does very well on my small thick coated dog. **Q: Is this brush good for a 5 pound Yorkie?** A: Would work but could be a bit big if using the pin side. The brush side would be fine. **Q: Does this have a soft comb and brush ?** A: It has no comb, unless you call the pin brush a comb. Will order some for family members too.. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice BIG Go Pets Brush *by T***N on August 13, 2017* First off, if I could give this item half stars I probably would give it 4 & 1/2. It seems very sturdy, has good build quality, when new feels really nice in your hand and overall seems to be a solid brush. But since I am not really feeling that it is a full 5 stars I had to give it 4. I have been following the instructions on using the bristle brush side first and then the pin brush side. There seems to be a difference in the look of the coat on my Havanese (small dog) and in my opinion it is to the better. My dog is not fully liking this brush but then again to be fair he is not too keen on any brush. He does put up with it and is getting better and better with this brush day by day, witch is surprising since with most he just puts up with for a certain amount of time and that's it. But with this one it seems to be growing on him. The handle of the brush is large, a good thing for me since I have large hands. The handle has a forming silicone gel that to begin with feels grate but after you get dog hair on it, it's very hard to clean off unless washing it with water or other liquid. Now I like having a dry handle when I brush my dog so washing it halfway through is not really an option since just about any and everything stick to the silicone and it is worse wet. Plus drying it with a towel usually leaves lint on the handle so it sort of needs to air dry. This is the main drawback to the brush... But. On the other hand the silicone forms very nicely to your hand. My mother has arthritic hands and she commented on this brush feeling comfortable so it does have really good use regarding the silicone handle. Now if there were just a good easy way to clean it rapidly without wetting it! Then this brush might just be close to perfect. Overall I am satisfied with this brush, I am going to keep using it and I am happy with my purchase. To give some positive criticism... I am not a big fan of the small chrome accents I would have just preferred them gray or black personally. A small and large size offered would be nice even a small, medium and large? I DO like the hole in the end of the handle so for those that wish to hang the brush up can do so easily.
