This is the best and most amazing charger I have ever had for recovering good batteries that won't come back to life. I have tried to remember to take it out and drive it from time to time, but the little that I'm doing has not kept the battery charged. I bought the NOCO GENIUS2 after using the company's jumpstarter to jump a nearly dead battery the week before. I had watched YouTube videos on the battery chargers (various sizes) and decided that the GENIUS2 would be the best fit for my needs, even though I think the GENIUS1 would have sufficed as this car is always garaged and doesn't need to be weather-resistant, which the 2 is. I unboxed the GENIUS2, connected the red (+) and then the neg (-), plugged the charger into an extension cord - the 72" cord isn't quite enough and most will need an extension cord to use this charger - and then plugged the extension cord into a surge-protected outlet. The charger recognized the 12V connection and started charging within 10 seconds. Despite having run the car for about an hour, the battery was still low, but was topped off to full charge in 6 hours. I took the charger off the battery (reversing the order of how I put it on) and let the vehicle sit for 24 hours without the charger on it. When I put the charger back on, it was still at full battery. FYI... the battery is fairly new so this was not unexpected. I like that this battery charger is so easy to use and clearly shows the operator what's going on and when the process is completed. Based on my positive experience with both the NOCO jumpstarter and the GENIUS2, I've purchased a GENIUS1 to use with my lawn tractor, replacing an older one by another maker.
