Review: Nice hobby. Never did it before - Not sure why this thing has any bad reviews from my experience. I've never touched a wood lathe in my life. I took a 1x2 piece of scrap. It is pine and soft. Use the table saw set up on this item to rip it in half. And then made what was in the pictures my first try. I do agree the blades are not great and I will be ordering different blades but the machine itself is user-friendly. If you watched YouTube videos like I did I was super impressed. I could do this on my first try. For the price. It's a great machine.

Literally used it one time, made one pass and it never worked again. This was after i returned the first one I bought because it wouldn't turn on. Don't spend anymore time looking here. Move on to a better machine.
