Don't recommend. **Q: What materials is is made out of?** A: cheap leather but you get what you pay for **Q: Can this case be used as a sort of kick stand when the top is flipped backwards?** A: Not very well. Also, my recent experience with the case has not been good in regards to the belt clip. I needed a replacement. The first I got was missing a screw in the clip attachment and would not hold. It took a while to get the new unit replaced. Unfortunately, the replacement had a similar problem. So I have two cases that don't clip on. I've resigned myself to carrying the case in a pocket or fanny pack when I want to go for a walk or run with my IPOD.
