This is an intentional design to reduce friction.· It is also normal for there to be gaps between the teeth of the thinning shears.· If the gap is too large, try adjusting the tension screw to reduce the gap.· If your dog’s fur is severely matted, detangle it first before cutting. Otherwise, it could damage the scissors and result in uneven trimming.· It's recommended to give your dog a bath and dry their coat before trimming. Start with thinning scissors to thin out the coat, then use other scissors to finish the trim.· Pay close attention to the correct posture when using the scissors.
