I assume one of a few things would happen.1) It would break immediately.2) It wouldnt achieve anything.3) it wouldn't pull/destroy the roots, if it did achieve something.I was completely wrong. I used up my drills entire battery, and was only able to weed half of my (very small) yard. Which is fine. My yard was completely overrun with Dandelions, and the roots were HUGE.I was able to eradicate the plant entirely, as far as I could tell. I sometimes went at it several times, because the plant/roots were so large they would wrap around the unit and halt progress. You do have to clear off the end, before attempting a new weed, or it wont hook on to the next weed.I have learned I need a second battery for my drill ;) but my faith in this product is now pretty rock solid.Now to get a rake to clean up the mess (Can you tell this is my first attempt at yard work?. Im so unamerican)Oh, the previous homeowner planted bamboo in the yard, which I've since mowed down, but the bamboo makes it impossible to weed in that area. Just FYI. I'm glad he did. Works great with black medic. Took me a while to figure out how to remove the weed from the weed and till tool once it gets wrapped around it. If you go at the weeds at an angle of the root and it makes it a lot easier to remove it from the tool. Do not go at the root straight up or you will not be able to remove the weed very well. It will leave holes in your yard where the weed id removed. I used this to loosen the sod initially. it made removing the sod MUCH easier. I first used this with my cordless drill. It ran the battery down pretty quick. I then put this on my Dewalt corded hammer drill. BOOO-YAAAA using that drill turned this thing into a true beast. After I removed the sod, I used this to loosen all the soil.
