A glass of unfiltered water has a distinct cloudy yellow color. If someone took a bath, the whole house reeks of 'rotten egg' odor at least for a couple of hours. Our 4 gpm well pump is connected to an 80 gallon pressure tank that feeds the house. Our water has to be tested every 6 months as coliform bacteria was present in one of the earlier tests.My project consists of 3 main filters and a uv disinfection system. The pressure tank connects to the NEXT-0948 for turbidity filtration which in turn supply to KDF55-1054 for rotten egg odor and heavy metal removal. Filtered water from this point passes through a Viqua whole house UV disinfection system. Finally at the sink, I have a VS-150 RO to filter the tds and any remaining contaminant that managed to pass through all 3 whole house systems.I spent a lot of time doing research and dealing with lots of filter vendors before making the decision to go with this setup. Similar looking systems from other vendors had major disadvantages like having flow throttling maintenance excessive big blues somewhere in the treatment train or the inability to backwash, reducing the life of media and quality of water.
