I am a side sleeper and those pillows mentioned would disturb my CPAP nasal mask and thus interrupt my sleep resulting in poor quality sleep. The adjustable fill in Pure Comfort pillow allows the mask to stay in place on whichever side I am sleeping. Also the hole in the pillow is large enough and situated in a comfortable place. I wake up feeling well rested. Finally! I would recommend this pillow for those reasons and also for excellent Customer Service. I would like to update as of 12/20/2019. The first time that I lay my head down, my ear in the hole, I knew that this would solve my problems! I've had it for several weeks now and I sleep 6 - 8 hours consecutively; I feel less fatigue as a result. You can turn the pillow over if you don't want to use the side with ear holes. It is memory foam, and it's not hard like so many of the pillows that I've had. It is small, but it supports my head and neck well. It has a pillow cover that can be removed and washed. For me, the softness of the memory foam is perfect. It doesn't hurt my neck at all. I am a side sleeper. During the few times that I lay on my back for a quick nap, I used the non-hole side. The company is very responsive and helpful. The pillow is very comfy. **Q: Does the pillow case also have a hole in it?** A: Yes, BUT the “pillow case” is really a pillow protector and on mine, the threads that attach the zipper to the pillow protector started to break after the second washing. Most of all let me tell you that the company was penny-pinching when they chose a zipper for the protector, it does not extend across the end of the pillow. This is a problem only if you wish to remove it...or put it back on. My wife gave up after the first washing and turned that task over to me because she couldn’t put it back on. Oh, and the pillow is to tall for my ear to reach it from either side. The solution for me has been to remove enough of the inner foam to sort of pull the hole down to meet my ear. So far, I haven’t found that entirely successful either. There is another pillow with a hole in it made in the U.K. and I’d suggest you study it before buying this one. **Q: How do I return this for a refund? The pillow traps heat and hurts my neck.** A: Don't knwo aboout the refund, but have you removed any of the stuffing in the pillow - that can make a world of difference! **Q: how do you remove some foam?** A: Your pillow will come in a zippered pillowcase. Take that pillowcase off, and you'll see that the main body of the pillow has another zipper running down its spine. That's where you'll get to the stuffing. A word on removing some of it, though: take a little at a time, then knead and massage the pillow to even everything out so it doesn't wind up lumpy. I 100% recommend this unique and amazing pillow! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ It Works! *by A***Y on March 2, 2024* I purchased over a dozen different pillows to help with ear pain. This pillow was the clear winner. I will warn you that there is an odor to the pillow when you first open it and the pillow case cover is thin and not soft (only reason why 4 stars instead of 5). I ended up removing the pillow cover to wash it and then sprayed the pillow with an orange air spray. I set my pillow outside on my lawn chair for a couple days (or by an open window would work) to get fresh air circulating through it. The more I used this pillow the more comfortable it became. In one week in my ear pressure and pain was gone. I did purchase the matching silk pillow case but it arrived used and from looking at it, there was a bit of fabric pilling so this showed me the quality is not good. I’ll be purchasing silk fabric and making my own pillow case for it. Note that because of its size, the width of a standard pillow case won’t fit these. All-in-all, even with the smell and pillow case quality, I am happy with the purchase.
