## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does the 5 qt lid fit on the steamer insert also? Or do you have to use the steamer open.... which would defeat the purpose?**
A: The large lid fits the steamer basket

**Q: Can you use these pans and pots to deep fry in oil? Will it damage the coating?**
A: You can deep fry without hurting the coating. I clean my pots and pans with warm soapy water after it cools down. The pots clean well.

**Q: Can I deep fry with these pans? If so how?**
A: The same way you would with any pan deep enough. Just put enough oil in th pan, heat it to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, and then carefully add the food to be fried.

**Q: Is it necessary to treat the pans? First time using a metal spatula and my skillet is scratched.**
A: To my knowledge, there are no “treatments” for a nonstick pan surface. I would not expect a simple scratch would be all that harmful to the future functionality of the cooking surface. However, I believe that it is not a good idea to use metal utensils in nonstick pans if you want to avoid scratching them. Metal utensils will even scratch stainless steel pans.

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best pots I ever had
*by on Reviewed in the United States March 17, 2026*

I have never had a problem with anything sticking. I love these pots and pans. I unfortunately burned a pot of pinto beans the first time I used the largest pot and having done this before I was extremely upset to have ruined my new pot or so I thought. I put the pot in the sink filled it with cold water and all the beans floated to the top. I couldn't believe my eyes and have been sold on these ever since.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ How well this product works and cleans up plus looks so beautiful
*by on Reviewed in the United States August 19, 2020*

I am so very pleased with Gotham Steel Pots and Pans set. It is so beautiful, but the way it performs as well as incredible clean up is just amazing. I wish I had this product years ago. I have thrown out so many pots and pans which is just money wasted time after time. Previously even it the cook top did not stick, the bottom of the pieces always had fired on drippings, impossible to get clean without special cleaner and a lot of elbow juice! I accidentally burnt some butter and peppers in the fry pan which I was still able to salvage. The fry pan looked brown and I took my sponge with some Dawn and running water to clean it off. It came off in the same manner I normally clean the pan-effortlessly! I am very happy with my purchase -great product!!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Love the look, love the cook! Will stick with this brand of cookware!
*by on Reviewed in the United States February 27, 2021*

I bought these after seeing a commercial of an cheese, eggs, etc., sliding off easy and it really does! I’ve been using these with a glass cooktop stove and have been very surprised at how easy it is to keep them clean!I’m new to coming in electric (versus gas), but the heat distribution has also been great; I made pancakes in the skillet and they were perfectly browned.Be careful using metal utensils on them; I used metal spoons to stir soup and the nonstick ceramic lining has started to wear on the bottom of the pan; only slightly.
