The flavor of this dandelion root is the best- it's mild, not too bitter. The roots are smaller in size and so far the two bags I've purchased have been really clean- no weird debris as noted in other reviews. I hope the growing/harvesting practices are truly organic. This one is a bit more expensive than the other two I've tried but I think it's worth the price. But why not just ask Starwest directly? Their number is: 1-800-800-4372. **Q: Where in Croatia is this harvested ? Croatia shares a border with Bosnia, Bosnia was bombed with depleted uranium which is radioactive.** A: I bought this based on source in Europe (read somewhere Poland). Didn't pay attention, but on front of bag, it says source/origin is China (as of May 2021). **Q: Please give me a recipe of using and how often can i use Dandelion Root.** A: I truly enjoy a cup of dandelion tea to be strong flavored. Therefore I use 1/2 Tablespoon per cup (that's about 1-1/2 teaspoons). I roast it quite dark; very dark brown. I discovered this by accident when I over roasted a batch in my oven. It was just short of starting to be a tad burned. Oh, but it makes a deep, dark, rich flavored cup of dandelion root tea! When I am cooking up a batch of tea on the stove with this dark roasted root, it almost smells like peanut butter. (I make a 'concentrate' by combining 6 cups of water and 16 tablespoons roasted root. I bring it to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer for 5". Then i turn it off and let it sit on the stove and cool, and hopefully pull more flavor out of the root. When it's cool enough, I pour the 'tea concentrate' into a quart jar through a sieve. When I'm ready to have some, I measure 1/8 cup of the concentrate into a cup and add 8ozs water and heat that up before drinking it....although it's pretty good cold, or room temp.) One time I put 1/4 cup of this concentrate to 8ozs of water and it was wonderful! The reason I make a concentrate is so that I don't have to store so much premade quantity of tea in the frig. Since this quart of concentrate makes 32 cups, I drink it frequently and love it! I'd love to hear how others make it. **Q: is it roasted** A: No it is not. You can easily roast in a 250 degree oven. It’s brighter and cleaner tasting than the teabag variety from a store. Sometimes I add it to my chamomile in a French press but usually I simply put directly in a mug. Hard to describe the flavor and texture of the softened bits after the tea is gone, I like them and most of us could use the fiber.
