When it did work properly, it would heat up, I would start straightening my hair and the straightener would lose a significant amount of heat and quit working. At my last hair appointment, my stylist pointed out to me how damaged my hair had become. The straightener had snagged so much of my hair in the styling process that it cause a lot of breakage in my hair making it look frizzy and unhealthy. I looked in to returning this item, but it was too far past the date to return. I then looked into sending it to the company for repair but the company is based in Canada and would cost more to send it for repair than it would to just purchase a new straightener from a different company.
