I haven't found such problems when throwing the pod in before the laundry. It says they are concentrated so if you throw them on top and they don't get wet enough to fully dissolve and leech into the entire wash, I can see how there could be some issues. The pods are very easy to use, low suds, high efficiency, and they clean very well in cold water. Being pressed for money, like most of us are these days, I bought a cheaper detergent to use. DON'T DO IT! You can really tell the difference between a cheap detergent, and TIDE.
