I have arthritis in my hands, feet, back, neck and left hip. I also have pain in my left knee and shoulder, tendon tears. I had tried Turmeric, CBD oil and hemp extract but none of them worked well. Then I came across a dog anti-inflammatory add on FB that had green lipped mussel in it so I thought why not for humans so I started researching. Anyway I received the Xtend-Life on a Monday, took 2 that evening and then 2 each in the morning and evening for the next couple of days. After 3 days I didn't take the prescription anti-inflammatory and although I'm not 100% pain free I'm 95 % pain free. It's has completely relieved the arthritis pain and the pain from the tendon tears is not nearly as bad, at least it doesn't wake me up at night. I researched several of the top brands listed on desertcart and thought the Xtend-Life was the best product for the price. The shipping is timely as I have shipped and received pkgs from my brother who lives in New Zealand and it can take weeks and my product order only took 4 days. I am totally sold on this product. Review: Good stuff - Husband loves these ! A lot of he’s joint pain has stopped . To assess the efficacy and value for money of mussel oil, it is important to be aware of the fact that the mussel oil only represents about 8 - 10% of the powder from which it is extracted. The mussel oil contains lipids which are primarily used because of their anti-inflammatory properties for the joints. However, the rest of the mussel powder that is not utilized when producing the oil - between 90 and 92% of the raw material - contains a plethora of other health benefits. Xtend-Life's Green Lipped Mussel Powder is an exception to this, as up to 90% of the original properties remain once converted into a powder, in comparison to only 10% in a mussel oil.To be assured of the highest possible nutrient content we would certainly recommend our expertly processed Green Lipped Mussel Powder, over an inferior mussel oil. I hope you find this information helpful, Douglass. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us. Kind regards, SummerCustomer Relations **Q: Does it smell like seafood. Does it taste like mussels or seafood ?** A: Yes. There is a strong "dead fish" smell of the capsules. You can smell them when in the bottle, when you pour them out in your hand, and also when you pop them in your mouth strong bad fishy smell. I tried laying the 4 recommended capsules out on the kitchen counter for a few minutes before taking, in hopes that some of the smell would air off of them before I had to put them in my mouth, but it didn't help. I also try to hold my breath when taking them, but that does not work either, still get that terrible smell up through your mouth. I have been taking them for two weeks, and have had no improvement in hip joint pain. **Q: Is it cold pressed?** A: This is not an oil, so cold pressed does not apply, but it is like the same process. **Q: What is the country of origin for the gelatin? is the gelatin certified bse free?** A: I received this answer from the company via email:"The country of origin where our bovine gel is sourced from is Colombia. The world Organisation for Animal Health issues the International Standard for categorizing BSE risks of any given country. The best endorsement is one of 'negligible risk' which is approved and applied to Colombia." ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you like it and reorder, order several bottles at once, less shipping cost. *by C***W on February 17, 2018* I had been taking a prescription anti inflammatory for a couple of months and knew I would have to get off it soon and if affects my liver. I also give these to my dog with a torn ACL and he has actually healed up very well without surgery . ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Daily user *by T***E on March 20, 2020* I have been using this product (or one like it) for about 2 years now. I use to wake up in the morning in pain due to stiff knees. I take 2 tabs a night before bed, and the pain in the morning has gone away. Since being on this, I cannot REMEMBER the last time I was sick with the cold or flu. I ran out of the tabs about a month ago and forgot to order. Within about 5 days, my pain has come back, and I am now battling a cold. I have re-order the product and cant wait for it to arrive! ## Frequently Bought Together - Xtendlife Green Lipped Mussel Powder - 2400mg Supplement with Omega-3 Fatty acids from New Zealand for Joint Health, 120 Capsules (2 Pack) - Green Lipped Mussel Capsules - Strongest DNA Verified from New Zealand - Perna Canaliculus Omega Supplement - May Promote Healthy Joints - 90 Capsules - New Zealand - Green Lipped Mussel for Humans - 19,000mg Serving - Dried Freeze Perna Canaliculus with Omega 3 - Support Joint Mobility & Circulation - Non GMO & Gluten – 60 Capsules --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/159098981-xtendlife-green-lipped-mussel-supplement-60-day-supply](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/159098981-xtendlife-green-lipped-mussel-supplement-60-day-supply) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-30*
