I bought this because of the "matte" answers here and was very disappointed by the sparklies when it arrived. This quad has been available for years and I hope Revlon never discontinues it. The purples have a blue-pink to blue-violet undertone without the reds of some available purple shadows that leave my eyes looking tired and bruised. This is a moderately pigmented shadow, but the colors build well and last through the day even without primer (primer keeps the color more true, though). Looking at the palette, w/ colors #1 and #2 on the top row, then #3 and #4 on the bottom, I use #1 at my inner eyes and under browbone (night), #3 over the rest of my eyelid and #2 just at the center eyelid, over the iris. I wear very little makeup, so this and liner is my day eye when I actually put on makeup. For nights, I do sculpt a more smoky eye using color #4 in the crease.
