This product is used in fire pits, wood and gas fire ovens or anywhere that can get up to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit. I used it to line a coal blast furnace for smelting aluminum. It can be used with fire bricks and is used inside the furnace or oven and chimneys. **Q: is this really fire clay?** A: This is really fire clay as advertised **Q: Can I use this to lay firebricks in a wood burning oven which gets to 1000 degree Centigrade?** A: You may need fireclay mortar from a masonry supply. This is only fireclay.
