Putting it back into pouch is tight fit, so not a snap - would not want it if used OFTEN. Thought description rather made item seem like a one-handed easy operation, Anyway still to test out and figure if it somehow will AUTO-CLOSE as in ad, but seems highly unlikely. Too expensive for just auto open and manual close, unless the operation, material, and construction is as good as it appears. Due to size, slightly heavy closed or open is expected. ADDING 5TH STAR for rating after using lots of times in rainy florida. UPDATE UPDATE -- NOT taking away 1 STAR for the tight fit to get this back into storage bag....mostly because I do not need an umbrella very often. UPDATE April 2014 - Carrying for "if it rains" - nice size. Cannot defend it under heavy wind really, as usually just rain with light wind....and when I use it, I'm usually on my bicycle, so holding it while steering makes keeping real dry, difficult. I do recommend it as probably one of the best, from desertcart. UPDATE Aug 2016 --owned 4 1/2 years --- Very Very seldom used as I'm retired, but sure works well when needed.
