I've ordered several of these from various sellers on Amazon claiming to be male GHT (garden hose thread, 11.5 threads/inch) but turn out to be 14 threads/inch, which is a fire hose thread here in the USA, and will leak unless you crank on your garden hose fitting with pliers and damage it's threads in the process. Here's one I ordered that costs a little more, but I can verify it's actually 11.5 TPI: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0952YBCBM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 **Q: Is the one inch x 3/4 . 3/4 ntp on the inside** A: The outside is 1” NPS thread and the inside is 3/4” NPS. Nation pipe thread NPT is tapered. National pipe straight NPS does not have a taper. They do have the same thread angle, shape, and pitch. You will have to use thread tape or a sealing compound to get a good seal on the threads. **Q: Is the one inch x 3/4 . 3/4 ntp on the inside** A: No, it is 3/4" straight threads, not tapered pipe threads. I was able to use my 3/4" valve with 3/4" male tapered pipe threads by wrapping several layers of teflon tape over the threads and stretching an o ring style hose washer over the male thread as a gasket between the valve body and the bulk head fitting. **Q: What is the gripping distance, how thick a tank wall will it fit?** A: The total length of the thread is 40mm, the middle hexagonal brass cap is 9mm, the rubber gasket is 2.5mm, and there are two total 5mm (which can be slightly compressed), so the gripping distance is about 0-30mm. ## Frequently Bought Together - Joywayus 2pcs 1/2" Female 3/4" Male Soild Brass Water Tank Connector Bulkhead Tank Fitting with 2 Rubber Ring Stablizing - Golden Pearl 5pc 1/2 NPT Stainless Steel Automatic Pig Nipple Water Drinker Feeder Waterer for Piglets --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/154624679-joywayus-2pcs-1-2-female-3-4-male-brass-water](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/154624679-joywayus-2pcs-1-2-female-3-4-male-brass-water) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-23*
