The included directions contain lots of grammatical errors and only provide a basic description of the product and its features. I have taken tons of Search & Rescue as well as land based navigation classes as a Paramedic and this compass has features that even I haven't been trained to use properly yet. Having said that, it's a great product and well-worth the money! It just may require a bit of YouTube assistance to correctly and accurately use all of the features included on this model. **Q: what is the accuracy of the compass? Thanks!** A: It's a magnetic compass. I am not sure how to describe its "accuracy". Its arrow lines up with the magnetic pole, which is its purpose. You need to know your locations deviation from true north and go from there if you are wondering how close it points to that direction. **Q: Does it works everywhere in the world?** A: It will work everywhere but the north and south poles! It's a really good compass...well built high quality! **Q: I have ordered these for our cub scouts...they are arriving monday and i am giving them out monday night. i need to know the width to personalize** A: Hi there, the size is 3.1*1.8*4.3in. Please check this. ## Frequently Bought Together - AOFAR AF-4074 Military Compass for Hiking,Lensatic Sighting Waterproof,Durable,Inclinometer for Camping,Boy Scount,Geology Activities Boating - LifeStraw Personal Water Purifier for Hiking, Camping, Travel, and Emergency Preparedness - bayite 4 Inch Survival Ferrocerium Drilled Flint Fire Starter, Ferro Rod Kit with Paracord Landyard Handle and Striker, 4"(Long) x 3/8"(Diameter) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/153447488-af-4074-military-compass-for-hiking-lensatic-sighting-waterproof-durable](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/153447488-af-4074-military-compass-for-hiking-lensatic-sighting-waterproof-durable) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-24*
