Review: High Quality Illuminated Magnifier - I've purchased several of these magnifiers for myself and as gifts. The rectangular 1511-3 hits the sweet spot for general home use. I also tried the 4X rectangular 1511-4, but the image is more distorted and you have to get it much closer to the object in order for it to focus. I like it much less than the 3.5X magnifier. I've never tried the new 3X model 1512-2 but I bet it would be a good choice too. I purchased this one from Global Tailor who sent me a gray market model with Japanese instructions. Not the end of the world, but it should have been noted as I purchased it as a gift.

A: Yes I feel she will really love it. I love mine .  If not she can send it back.

A: I don’t know I’ve never had a replace it.

**Q: How do you change the batteries? I can't find a way to open the magnifier.**
A: The battery openng is on the backside of the magnifier. If you follow  a straight line to the base of the handle from the light you will see the lever for opening up the battery area.

I've purchased several of these magnifiers for myself and as gifts. The rectangular 1511-3 hits the sweet spot for general home use. This product arrived more quickly than expected. That's good! Everything about this process was easy and smooth. We are still waiting to see if the product will do what we hope it will -- but so far, so good! We purchased this for a friend who is losing her eyesight and I told her to try it for a week or so to make sure it is what will work for her. We're not to that "deadline" yet.
