The shoulder straps are padded and comfortable as well as adjustable. the mag pouches are swivel top, which isn't my personal favorite but hold well. Comes with two light stick retainers that stick to the sides of the mag pouches that are covered in Velcro. This rig also has a kangaroo pouch with a retention strap, which stays in with Velcro. I took it out because once its strapped to you you wont need it, it will stay put. There are four pistol mag pouches on the front of all four AR mag pouches which hold a knife, or multitool just as well as a pistol mag.
