Ideal for middle school through college. Review: A high school essential that never let me down - I bought this calculator because it was required for my high school math classes, and it ended up being one of the most useful school purchases I made. The battery life was excellent, the screen was bright and easy to read, and it handled everything from Algebra to Calculus without any issues. Once I became familiar with the menus, it was surprisingly intuitive to use. Years later, I still think it’s worth the investment if your school recommends it. It isn’t inexpensive, but it’s reliable and built to last. Review: A bit pricey, but still the absolute gold standard for AP math and standardized tests. - I’m usually pretty skeptical when it comes to legacy tech that hasn't changed its core layout in decades, but after picking this TI-84 Plus CE up for my kid’s math and physics classes, I have to admit Texas Instruments got the hardware refinement right. Coming from the older monochrome models, the high-res color backlit screen is a night-and-day upgrade. Being able to color-code multiple functions makes tracking intersection points and complex graphs infinitely easier. The slimmed-down chassis fits nicely in a backpack without adding extra bulk, and switching to an integrated rechargeable battery means we finally said goodbye to AAA battery hassle. As someone in IT, I appreciate the solid tactile feedback on the keypads and the fact that the OS is snappier than previous generations. Most importantly, it’s fully approved for SAT, ACT, and AP exams, which saves us from any test-day headaches. The price point is definitely on the premium side for what is essentially specialized micro-computing hardware, but given its reliability, build quality, and essential role in high school and college coursework, it's worth every penny. Solid 5 stars. ## Features - Makes understanding math and science topics quicker and easier — ideal for middle school through college - Built-in MathPrint feature allows you to input and view math symbols, formulas and stacked fractions exactly as they appear in textbooks - Graph in vibrant colors to make faster, stronger connections. Powered by a TI Rechargeable Battery that can last up to one month on a single charge. - 4-year subscription for the TI-84 Plus CE online calculator included with purchase - Lightweight yet durable enough to withstand the demands of the classroom year after year ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00TFYYWQA | | Best Sellers Rank | #188 in Office Products ( See Top 100 in Office Products ) #2 in Graphing Office Calculators | | Brand | Texas Instruments | | Calculator Type | Graphing | | Color | Black | | Compatible Devices | Laptop | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 30,350 Reviews | | Display Type | LCD | | Enclosure Material | Plastic | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00033317206667, 00809395443269 | | Item Dimensions L x W | 7.57"L x 3.4"W | | Item Highlight | Computer version included, USB charging, Full color, Faster than TI-84 Plus | | Item Type Name | Graphing Calculator | | Item Weight | 7.04 ounces | | Manufacturer | Texas Instruments | | Mfr Part Number | 84 PLUS CE | | Model Name | TI-84 Plus CE, Black | | Model Number | 84PLCE/FC | | Number of Batteries | 1 CR2 batteries required. If you are familiar with the TI-84 family of calculators then you will be right at home with this one. But here's where it shines. If you use any of the statistics functions this model has a stat wizard which shows you the fields that need to be filled and then pastes your entries into the appropriate location in the function. For example, when you select tcdf( a screen appears with lines for lower:, upper:, and df:. After entering those values, say, 1, 2, 5 you select "PASTE" and what then appears is tcdf(1,2,5). Press "ENTER" and you get the value .1306... If you are not familiar with statistics, that's okay, just know that this avoids having to look up the syntax for the function in the users guide. The calculator also has the option for mathprint, which presents fractions and radicals in a way that is visually more appealing. I used a TI-84 Plus for years, and when some of the keys started to get a little sticky I decided to try the new model. As much as I loved my old TI-84 Plus, the CE version is just great. The extra cost is well worth it. **Q: What is the battery life before needing recharged? How long to recharge?** A: I conducted a test where I left the calculator running on max brightness non-stop until it died. It took over 30 hours before the battery was completely drained. Since no one runs their calculator non stop for 30 hours straight, this equates to a month of normal use at max brightness. If you want to extend it to two months or more, be sure to keep the brightness turned down. It takes 1-2 hours to charge from a dead battery. **Q: Does it come with a cover? (like previous TI-84s)** A: The Teacher 10-Packs with "School Property" calculators do NOT include the slide covers; only the retail-packed singles do. **Q: Does this calculator come with an owners manual?** A: There is also an app manual:https://www.amazon.com/Graphing-Calculator-Manual-TI-84-Plus/dp/B01MYF33Q4Maybe this is also interesting for you. Also available on Google Play and iOS. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A high school essential that never let me down *by C***Z on July 25, 2026* I bought this calculator because it was required for my high school math classes, and it ended up being one of the most useful school purchases I made.
