A: I am also disappointed with this router. The ethernet connections on this router are 10/100 which limits the speed on your connection to the internet to less than 100Mbps.

**Q: is it backwards comp. will it work with 802.11g/b laptop wireless cards**
A: Yes it will.

**Q: how far can you be  from it and  and still receive a signal**
A: It has pretty good range.  I have a large 1880-era brick house filled with plaster walls.   I can get a signal 50 feet away outside on the porch or patio (with windows), and stream to a TV equally far away on another floor.

**Q: does it work with google chromecast?**
A: Hi Edgar. Yes, it does. You just have to connect your Chromecast to this router's wireless network and you should be good to go.
