After reading more about resistance bands from Dr. Stoppani, I realized that they confer benefits in addition to rehabilitation; they are in several ways superior to weights, as counter-intuitive as it might seem. The linear progressive resistance recruits more fast-twitch fibers at the apex of the movement which is more conducive to growth, there is constant tension, drop sets are much simpler and quicker (and modulating weight by smaller increments than 5 or 10 pounds is possible, allowing you to squeeze every last bit of effort from a movement), they often allow for stretching of the muscle which results in a stronger contraction, and the ability work in different planes that don't rely on gravity to provide the resistance are a few of those added benefits. One of the nicest features is the clip. It allows for much more versatile use of the bands. You can easily clip more than one together to increase resistance. It also makes attaching the handles and ankle attachments easy and secure. This kit comes with Jim Stoppani's Superman booklet (also available on his subscription website www.jimstoppani.com) as well as a helpful wall chart.
