Designed with a soft cotton backing, it offers both comfort and style, perfect for hallways, foyers, and bedrooms. Handmade by skilled artisans, each rug boasts unique variations and a flowing texture that adds depth and glamour to your space. Trusted for over a century, SAFAVIEH delivers a blend of craftsmanship and modern design that transforms everyday areas into luxurious retreats.

## Description

Add instant glamour and plush texture to your space with the SAFAVIEH Paris Shag Rug, hand-tufted by skilled artisans for a luxuriously soft, flowing look. Its long 2.5-inch fibers drape and move in gentle waves rather than standing upright, creating a silky, statement-making accent ideal for a bedside, vanity, walk-in closet, or low-traffic living and dining areas. As a hand-tufted rug, light shedding is a natural characteristic and not a defect; to maintain the fibers, gently shake out debris outdoors when possible or vacuum lightly without a beater bar, and vacuum surrounding floors as needed. Finished with a cotton backing, this rug pairs best with a SAFAVIEH rug pad for added stability and floor protection. Subtle variations in color and size may occur due to dye lots, display settings, and the handcrafted process, making each rug uniquely its own.

## Features

- [PLUSH FLOWING SHAG]: Hand-tufted by skilled artisans with 2.5-inch silky fibers that flow naturally to create a soft, wavy texture that adds depth and glamour to bedrooms, living rooms, dining areas, closets, or vanity spaces
- [HANDMADE CHARACTER]: Crafted by hand, gentle shedding is normal and part of the rug’s authentic construction; to protect the long fibers, shake out debris outdoors or vacuum nearby floors using suction only (no beater bar)
- [DESIGNED FOR COMFORT]: Cotton backing provides a soft foundation underfoot; a SAFAVIEH rug pad is recommended to enhance stability, reduce movement, and help protect floors
- [NATURAL VARIATIONS]: Color tones and rug dimensions may vary slightly due to dye lots, monitor settings, and handmade production; upon arrival, reverse roll and allow time for creases to relax naturally
- [TRUSTED BRAND]: SAFAVIEH has been a trusted home furnishings leader for over 100 years, loved by millions and consistently rated 4★ and above; start your search with SAFAVIEH and explore 100,000+ top-rated rugs today
- [BASED IN NEW YORK]: Based in New York, SAFAVIEH has 13 retail locations across NYC, Long Island, Westchester, Stamford and New Jersey, combining generations of interior design and rug-making expertise to influence style and set trends in home furnishings

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How do I get my rug edges to lie flat?**
A: Rugs are rolled or folded for safe transit, so creases and curled edges are to be expected. Lay the rug flat, or reverse-roll and the marks will release within a few days.

**Q: Why does my rug look different than the photo?**
A: Because the fibers lie in one direction, the rug appears lighter from one end and darker from the other, with the tone shifting as you move around it. Room lighting and screen settings can also affect how the color reads.

**Q: Why does my rug shed?**
A: A little shedding is normal on a new rug, and it subsides within a few days as the loose fibers work their way out.We suggest vacuuming regularly without a beater bar to help it along.

**Q: Why does my rug smell?**
A: A light scent is normal after a rug has been rolled and wrapped for shipping. Let air circulate through the room and it will fade within a few days.

**Q: How do I clean my rug?**
A: Vacuum regularly in the direction of the pile, not against it, and skip the beater bar. Blot spills rather than rubbing them. Natural fiber rugs should be shaken out to release dirt and debris, avoid wet cleaning.
