I haven't used anything but Chapstick Moisturizer since Lip Smackers was a think but I was ready for something else. I knew I wanted a lip gloss but I also needed to help my extremely dry lips, which is how I came across this. During my years obsessing over Chapstick Moisturizer I realized it would coat my lips in a nice, waxy paste but was never actually moisturizing them. Every day I used the product I found myself picking at my very flaky lips and causing more damage than good. Since buying this lip gloss I realized my lips are smoother than they have every been and I don't need to do a ridiculous sugar scrub to get these results. It's amazing. I love the results so much that I immediately went to Target and bought every shade it comes in. I have only used my Chapstick once since this gloss came into my life and that was because it was right next to me. The next day I had dry patches on my lips again so that's in the trash. The gloss also has a nice shine and isn't so sticky that my lips are peeling away from each other every time I talk but my hair will get caught in it. The scent is nice as well but I don't care for the cooling aspect of it, I would say that's the only down side.
