A: The European made bakeware stayed intact at 450 degrees, but five out of six pieces shattered when the temperature was increased to 500 degrees.

A: Yes, they are great.  They do heat up a bit when placing in the microwave.  I use them frequently to make hot cereal.

A: I would contact CorningWare to be on the safe side.  It wouldn't occur to me to put it in a slow cooker.

The tops on these small dishes are great -- very tight. I am taking dinners to a friend post-surgery and they are just the right size for individual portions. I can see they'll be great for storing things in the fridge -- you know, that half a can of cranberry sauce, left over potatoes. They are a size that fills a gap, not to tiny and not too big.
