The books focus on everyday things and activities in ways that children can relate. It also exposes and discusses things that might not have happened yet but very well could (e.g. going to the dentist, moving to a new house, etc.). For young children, fantasy books can be difficult because they are still working out what is and is not real.In this book, Tim gets a sore throat and goes to see a doctor, then gets a prescription.My family in the UK sent us our first two and we've proceeded to acquire a whole set. Fair warning, the books are British, so if you were raised in America you'll see some new words such as trainers (running shoes), lorry (semi truck), nursery (pre-school), tea (a late afternoon snack / light meal), as well as alternate spells such as "mummy" and "centre". In this book specifically you'll see "a misery" (a downer) as well as Chemist (pharmacy). ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ live action ones) and I really like the stories *by on Reviewed in the United States November 2, 2016* I've watched a lot of topsy and tim on youtube (the older, animated episodes, not the newer, live action ones) and I really like the stories. The illustrations are cute and they really help kids to overcome their fears and learn that things are rarely as scary as they think. In this book, tim is ill and has to see the doctor. Only problem I have is when tim refuses to eat breakfast because he is sick, his mother calls him a misery. Uh...could have asked the kid why he didn't want to eat. I'm sure people would say, hey, if you worked your butt off to make breakfast, you would feel the same way, but I just think it's rude.
