## Description

desertcart.com Ironclad has given hands a new lease with their high-tech approach to glove design. Ironclad gloves are made to protect workers' hands better than other work gloves, without feeling clumsy the way so many work gloves can. The first thing we noticed about these gloves is that they're tailored to fit the natural curve hands have in a resting position, rather than being cut straight, so when the hand isn't working, it can actually relax without the glove pulling the fingers in an uncomfortable direction. The palm of this general-utility glove is made of Amara, a synthetic material that mimics the resilience, grip, and comfort of suede while remaining machine-washable and resistant to water damage. High-wear areas are reinforced with tough DuraClad fabric, making these the toughest-grip gloves we've ever worn. The fingertips are also reinforced, yet we had no problem with dexterous tasks like picking up coins. We also like the cut of the cuff on these gloves. It comes in tight to the wrist to prevent dirt or other materials from pouring in. Why so many other gloves have gaping cuff designs is a mystery. While the gloves themselves won't be damaged by water, they won't keep your hands dry for long if you're working in really wet conditions. But that can be said of most work gloves, and everything considered, Ironclad gloves are some of the toughest, most comfortable, and easiest-to-work-in gloves we've tried. --Brian Trinen Product Description The Ironclad Heavy Utility glove is Ironclad’s most popular glove. It’s a long-wearing, tough utility glove with amazing tactile feel and dexterity. The abrasion protection is strengthened through Duraclad reinforcements that provide 8x more durability than normal synthetic leather. Duraclad is a proven technology that outlasts all other fabric/materials in gloves today. This material was developed to be the most durable material in the industry safety market. This glove is ideal for construction, material handling, demolition, search and rescue, landscaping, forestry, lumberyards, cable and wire work. From the Manufacturer Ironclad's Heavy Utility HUG-04-L is extra durable and is rugged. Our most popular glove has been updated and made even better. A long wearing, tough utility glove with amazing tactile feel and dexterity. Now with additional knuckle protection and reinforced palm areas that are stronger and more flexible than ever, this is one tough glove. Not to mention, they are completely washable, just like every other Ironclad glove. For best results machine wash and hang dry. Ideal for construction, material hadling, demolition, landscaping, forestry, handling lumber, and cable & wire work.

Review: So far, so good - Holding up nicely. They fit well. Good grip. Great price.
Review: Reliable and Durable Work Gloves - As someone who takes on various DIY projects, the Ironclad Heavy Utility Work Gloves have become an indispensable part of my toolkit. These gloves have proven their worth in numerous tasks, from handling rough materials to performing detailed work that requires a good grip and dexterity. The high abrasion resistance is a standout feature. I’ve used these gloves while working with lumber, bricks, and even metal, and they’ve held up exceptionally well without showing significant signs of wear. The performance fit ensures they’re snug but comfortable, allowing me to maintain a good feel for the tools I’m using. One thing I particularly appreciate is the durability combined with flexibility. The gloves are tough enough to protect my hands from blisters and cuts, yet they don’t feel overly stiff, which is a common issue with other work gloves. This balance is crucial when you’re working on projects that require both protection and precision. The fact that they’re machine washable is a huge plus. After a day of heavy use, I can toss them in the wash, and they come out looking almost new. It saves me the hassle of having to replace them frequently, which adds to their value. On the downside, they might feel a bit warm during hot weather due to their thick material. However, this is a trade-off I’m willing to accept given their durability and protective qualities. For anyone who engages in regular DIY activities or requires reliable hand protection for their work, these gloves are a great choice. They provide the right mix of toughness and comfort, making tough jobs easier on the hands.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Are they good for working with chain saws and fire wood activities**
A: These r perfect for hard use work like that. But the teary cloth above the thumb will get all those small splinters in them so forget about using it to wipe your sweat off your face. Other than that I dont see why you couldn't use these for that type of labor. I use them for carpentry moving concrete and carrying precut lumber to my stove. Never ran a chain saw with them for a long time.

**Q: Are these suitable for warehouse selection?**
A: I've been working select support in a food distribution warehouse. For the first year I kept trying different gloves and these are the best out of the dozens of brands and types of glove. Even so, I only get a few weeks maybe a month of work out of them before they start splitting at the seems (much better than the days to a week that I've gotten out of every other glove). Personally, if I was a selector instead of support, I would use the ironclad box handling gloves.
I tried those too. They were the best gloves I tried for picking up cardboard, plastic, and angle boards. They just didn't hold up for long picking up pallets.

**Q: Will these work with touchscreens?**
A: Unfortunately no. To heavy of a glove for a touchscreen. Great for landscaping

**Q: How do they fair with chemicals? Specifically industrial bleach**
A: Hi and thank you for your question. The HUG is not a chemical glove and bleach would negatively affect the glove. Try the MKC5 that Amazon sells. Not as much dexterity, but it holds up well to bleach.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not indestructible, but well worth the price.
*by Y***O on October 22, 2015*

I've worn my first pair out, and I will be purchasing them again, they are that good. I bought these gloves for a specific project, moving a pile of rocks, a very large pile of rocks. The rocks varied in size from baseball to basketball sized, and were a variety of types. One thing was for sure, there were a lot of rocks. These gloves held up like champs. I really put them through their uses and they lasted long enough to finish the project, which took most of the summer, moving four fully stone laden wheel barrows a day. They didn't quite make it to the end of summer, the seams along two fingers finally gave way, the rocks won that battle. I don't expect gloves to last forever, I just need them to last long enough to get the job done. The fit is fantastic, and just about every feature of this product came into play when I did my project. I even got a lot of use out of the sweat wipe over the thumb, and the protection across the knuckles saved my hands on more than one occasion on this particular project. I am hard on gloves, and tend to go through them, and while these are not the last pair you will ever buy, and they are not indestructible by any means, they do a good job for me. I am not a professional tradesman, so I can't speak to how they would hold up under more rugged conditions, but for my uses around the house, garden and a home wood shop in a non-professional capacity, they are the best I have used in a long time. I consider gloves part of the cost of doing any project, and to spend less than twenty bucks to protect my hands is a small price to add to a project with inherent physical dangers. As I mentioned earlier, my pair did rip along the seams at the ends of the fingers, and if there was a way to reinforce the seams by covering them with another layer of material, I would pay the extra price without so much as a blink. I will be replacing my pair soon enough with another pair of the same brand and style. There are probably better gloves out there, and if you do some research you can find gloves that are considerably more costly, but for my dollar, these are a great value. Got to stick with a winner.
