We ended up sinking the hinge into the door itself to minimize the gap between the shelf and the floor. We used trim to hide the side and top gaps. It looks great and you can't tell anything is behind it at all. Anyone who says the hinge isn't hidden just didn't install it in a way to actually hide it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Way Over-Engineered. Silky smooth operation on a heavy bookcase door. *by R***L on December 4, 2017*  Way over engineered, as I like it! I built a 48" wide, 6'-8" high hidden bookcase door for my home theater. Depth of the bookcase is wall-width for 2x6 framing. I set the bottom hinge into a concrete slab floor using Tracon concrete screws....4" long if I recall, and the top is mounted into dimensional framing. Zero sagging in a year and a half. I was a little hesitant on the price, but now can heartily recommend the kit.There's a video attached that shows the finished product....after three years or so. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not the best but good enough for who it's for!
