They all arrived with their charge indicators showing 2 LEDs lit and nominal terminal voltages of approximately 18.8 volts.TWO (of the three) packs charged, on a DeWalt DCB101 charger, to a terminal voltage of 20.5 V (and, then, showed 3 LEDs lit)The third pack, when placed on the charger, was fully charged, according to the charger indicator light in spite of the fact that the pack, itself, continued to show only 2 LEDs lit, with a terminal voltage of 18.78 V. Because the pack would not charge, I commenced the Amazon return process for the defective pack. At the end of the process, when the shipping label and Lithium battery warning label had been generated, there was also the warning that defective lithium batteries could not be shipped. Amazon Customer Service advised that a replacement battery would be sent and NOT to ship the defective battery. I disposed of the defective battery in the Battery e-Waste bin at a Lowes store entrance.The replacement battery (now the FOURTH one that I have received) displayed the same 2 LED's charge and a terminal voltage of 18.76 V, at the time of delivery and refused to charge. The battery worked fine in a light application of a DeWalt drill. Upon completion of that short task, the battery had a terminal voltage of 18.58 V and still showed 2 LED's. Placed on the known-good DeWalt charger, the charger indicated that the battery was still fully charged. Left overnight on the charger, the terminal voltage did not change and there were still 2 LEDs lit. The batteries (or at least 2 of the 4 that I've received) do NOT appear to be designed to charge on a DeWalt 20V Max charger.It appears that a "Sense" output from a defective battery pack "tells" the DeWalt charger to stop charging with a Charge Complete display on the DeWalt charger.In the Product Description, the vendor advises, "4.There should be someone around when the battery is charging".Following this advice and bypassing the faulty pack's "Sense" output to the charger, I carefully monitored the charging voltage while cautiously charging the battery with a 1 A charging current from a current and voltage-regulated power supply connected to the B+ and B- terminals of the battery pack. (A 1 A charging current seemed quite prudent since the DeWalt charger's output current is 4 A). When the terminal voltage reached 19.3 V, the pack's charge indicator showed 3 LEDs lit. The charging cycle was continued until the terminal voltage reached 20.5 V, which is the same terminal voltage on known-good DeWalt battery packs at the completion of their charge cycle.The pack CAN be charged to a 3-LED, 20.5 V, "Charge complete" point but NOT on a DeWalt charger; your current-regulated electronics lab supply needs to be used and the charge progress should be carefully monitored.UPDATE: 19-07-19Of the 50% (two out of four) that ARE compatible with the DeWalt charger, both (of the 'chargeable' batteries) are INCOMPATIBLE with at least some DeWalt tools. The TWO batteries that were satisfactorily fully-charged on the DeWalt charger FAILED in service in the DeWalt DCE100 "20V Max" blower. The failure mode was to operate the blower for 5-10 seconds and then to cut out (cease operation). Pausing for a few seconds would allow the DCE100 to resume operation for another 5-8 seconds before cutting out again.This discontinuous service, in a DeWalt tool, was quite irksome and would indicate an incompatibility or faulty design.The DeWalt 20V Max, 5 AH battery operated the DeWalt DCE100 tool continuously.SUMMARY:"Genuine" DeWalt 20V Max batteries appear to be compatible with both DeWalt chargers and DeWalt tools.These alternate batteries (the four that I've received) have a 50% failure rate with DeWalt chargers and a 100% failure rate with at least some DeWalt tools (such as the DCE100 blower). The 50% that were capable of being charged DID work with SOME DeWalt tools."Caveat emptor." :( ### ⭐ First two of these will not engage with charger: cannot charge them *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on July 11, 2019* Since there's no way to contact the seller to ask questions, I must send this review. I ordered the first one and it was delivered very quickly. However, when I plug it into the Dewalt charger, it will not engage, that is, it will not remain connected and therefore will not charge. I ordered a second one (Amazon return/replace feature). Again it arrived in a flash. Second one behaves the same way as the first: Won't charge at all. Dewalt original battery engages and charges fine, so it's not the charger. I will return both if I don't hear from the seller to perhaps explain how to get these to work properly. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ For the money, you can't lose. *by C***S on Reviewed in the United States on July 5, 2019* So I wanted to try one of these out and for the price you can't go wrong. But I ran it and one of my 3 year old dewalt 20V 4.0Ah. Tested on ripping a 30x80 solid pine door with my Dewalt circ saw. My old battery cut through the entire 80" without overheating. This battery made it 24" before it was too hot to operate. Obviously, I wouldn't use my battery operated circ saw to do this, but wanted to test them.
