They are very durable the only maintenance required is to change the battery every three to five years. I love the ability to be able to program them with the app. I can even program them to turn on if even for a moment if there is to much distortion on the power coming from the power distribution company. There are other parameters that can be set some are similar to those offered by other manufacturers, the difference is APC backups can be set to tighter tolerances. I am using it it mostly to protect and keep my fiber modem running as well as my computer switch, so my internet stays up during these electric storms.
