So I got this. It feels like it will last a long time, but that's partly because of its thickness, which is greater than I expected, making it bulkier than I'd like. The flap in front adds bulk without any real functionality -- I'd be happier if it weren't there.I anticipated being able to use it for five pens, because of the product picture; but it's pretty full with just three. If I just wanted to carry three pens, this would be a clear win. Using to protect the sharp points and edges of drill bits and small chisels floating around in an old tool box. Worked so well, came back for two more!It holds about three large drill bits (the ones with side flares) or three or four small, pencil-sized chisels.The other nice thing about this protector is the muslin drawstring bag that comes with it. Now you have one more storage item to utilize. For the price and quality, this is overall a pretty good deal.The leather is thick, so expect this to last a long time doing its job. That being said, i tried using the item in a button up style work shirt, button up dress shirt, and a jersey material shirt with pocket. It did not fit properly in any of them. It did not reach the bottom of the pocket so the weight of item cause my pockets to bend at lip and "fold" down. The fit is very narrow in the storage area as well.
